Best Western Plus Houston Energy Corridor

Most important, staff need more training. Locates in the place where my meeting is, good. Lighting in the room is too dark, furniture is okay but the carpet is kind of sticky. Should have changed to wood grain type of tile to prevent bacteria growth. Most of the staffs were friendly except one that makes me give this motel minus one star if I can. On my last day, I had to drive a long way to get home. I intended to fill up my water jar for the trip. I remembered there was a water dispenser on the juice machine. Half way filling up the water bottle with water, I was stopped by the breakfast staff. She said ‘No, No’. Then she pointed at a sign posted on the back side of a column next to the juice machine. I never paid any attention to that sign. Probably most of the guest missed that sign too. It was not posted on the machine. Normally people just focus on getting juice instead of reading all the posted signs before getting breakfast item, 7:00 am in the morning. I told her I was just getting water, which was obvious because water dispenser was at the end of all dispensers. She yelled and insisted the ‘No, No’ and ‘ESCORT’ me out of the breakfast room. Looked like a store worker just caught a shop lifter. I never felt so humiliated in my life. I understand people probably abuse their privilege before. But in my case, it could be handle differently by directing me to water fountain in the other part of lobby, discreetly. Never Best Western again!

Overall I had a wonderful experience. Room was very comfy and clean. No unruly guests or smoke smells. The AC was one of the best in that it was not loud and it kept the room nice and cool. My only two complaints would be the limited selection of TV channels and there was a bit of a mildew smell and taste to the filtered water dispenser downstairs in the lobby by the check-in desk, so perhaps doing an extensive cleaning of the nozzle might help eliminate this issue. Overall great stay and I'd definitely stay again.
